The Zoom app unfortunately can sometimes be buggy, giving rise to issues such as “audio not working” problems. People who are not familiar with the controls of the app can also find it hard to hear other participants or get their voices heard. The audio/speaker issue might be due to the corrupt drivers on your PC. You should update the audio drivers on your Windows PC. Follow the steps to update them on your PC. Unfortunately none of this addresses my problem. The troubleshooter says my INTERNAL mic is “unplugged” which is nonsense. But because Windows thinks the mic not connected, it does not appear in the device manager under Audio Inputs or Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. This means I can’t enable or disable it or do anything with the drivers; and of course I can’t mute or unmute it or do anything with levels. The Privacy settings do say that most of my apps can acess it, but that does no good when no other part of Windows seems to think it’s there. On the next window, click on “Search automatically” and it will check for the latest audio driver from the internet.

With that, the app will be updated and your meeting will go smoothly. However, if you are joining the meeting via your Gmail or chrome browser, you need to update them too following the steps above. For Gmail; Type Gmail on the search bar and to update your chrome browser, type Chromeon the search bar.
- Toggle the switch of Microphone access for this device to On.

The current audio format may not work correctly with your PC’s hardware. Windows 11 has new BIOS requirements as an OS and is ideally recommended for systems using UEFI. This in turn means that your OEM needs to issue BIOS updates to support the new OS. As it turns out, many users facing microphone issues hadn’t updated their BIOS in a while. If you too are in the same boat, then we recommend you try updating your BIOS to the latest version.
Lastly, there are some mute switches on the microphone. And so if your mute switch is enabled then your microphones will be in non-working condition. Step 3- Then enable your “Microphone access to this device” option to On position. Also, turn on the option “Allows the app to access your Microphone” to on position.
